I stayed home with my children when they were young and then began working outside the home as a teaching assistant at a Montessori school. I left the preschool field to find a career in the social services. I was the Executive Associate Director, of United Way of Lake County. During my tenure I authored a $250,000 grant, [RSVP] which reimburses senior citizens for expenses incurred in volunteer services. The grant was selected to serve as a national model for grant writing. Later, I assumed the position as Executive Director of Barwell Settlement, a well baby and dental care facility for indigent children. Both programs were expanded during my tenure. Needing to concentrate on my husband’s career, I accepted responsibility as Campaign Chairman and Treasurer for Bill, who served as Lake County Supt. of Schools. Of interest, Bill recently had a grade school in Lake Villa named after him. I returned to college and picked up another year plus of credits and began working for the Lindenhurst Early Childhood Center. I revamped the Preschool division, [where I also served as Head Teacher] and am currently submitting my curriculum for copyright purposes. I currently work part time as Assistant Director. On the personal side, this is my second marriage. I have two children from my first marriage, Philip Henderson and Cindy Donegan. I have 5 grandchildren, I adore. I enjoy writing, e-mailing to friends, [old and new], reading, swimming, gardening, homemaking, sewing, and of course spending time with my family.
