After leaving school I married Bud
Bengson who went to school in Grayslake.
Shortly after our marriage we bought Stadium Oil Co. & Car Wash in
Round Lake Park. We had two boys and
one girl and I was a stay-at-home Mom.
After the children were finished with school we decided to sell the
business we had for 30 years and retire to Fountain Hills, Arizona.
Two years after retiring, Bud passed
away. After 24 years of marriage I went
to work for the first time outside the home, as a hostess in a local
restaurant. There I met my second husband
Bob Vogel. Bob was a local builder and
we owned our own development company until we retired in 1996. Our passion was boating and when we retired
we bought a 38' Cabin Cruiser and have had it docked at Sea World Marina in San
Diego.
Bob passed away in 2001, but I have kept
the boat to use as my “condo on the bay” to get out of the heat of the Arizona
summers.
I have a son and daughter and four grandchildren
who live in Scottsdale, Arizona. I also
have a son and one grandson who live in San Diego.
