ROSEMARY “KAY” (KENNEL) SAXBY

Kay and her husband Maynard were married in August of 1956, after graduating from Illinois State University in June.  Mayn was a high school teacher, so the two of them had several opportunities to chaperone students on special trips to Mexico and Europe.  Maynard died four years ago from cancer. 

Kay is a substitute schoolteacher.  She is also a Lay Minister in her church where she is very active with various aspects of church life.  She is the devoted mother of five children and grandmother of 13 grandchildren with another one expected in September of 2002.  She spends as much of her time with her family as she can, even to the point of going on a camping trip to Mexico’s Baja area with a family entourage of 19 people!  She enjoys sewing and needlework, often making dresses for her granddaughters and quilts for the new babies in the family. 

Kay is very thankful for the support of her family and friends through many trying times¾in particular at the time of her husband’s death and more recently as she herself has battled cancer.
