After graduating from high school, Don joined the Seabees where he learned about the operation of heavy equipment.  He used this knowledge as a career for several years after his tour of duty.  He then worked as a truck driver for 32 years, retiring in 1994 at age 60.

Don and his wife Doris have been residents of Johnsburg, living in the same house, for 47 years.  They have three children and eight grandchildren, ages 24 years down to ten years. 

Don enjoys playing golf and plays at least twice a week.
