After graduation I worked at Ringwood Chemical with Ray Bieschke until I joined the Marine Corp. Don Wehrstein and I joined the same day, going through boot camp and combat training together. Don got sent to Alaska and I went to Korea. We both came out in 1957 as Sergeants.
I married in 1958, had 2 girls, two years apart. I was married for 13 years and divorced in 1971. I remarried my pretty Sally in 1972. We will celebrate our 30th this November. Sally has 5 children, so between the two of us, we have 7 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Sally still works as a Manufactures Representative, but is cutting back this year to enjoy life. She is a big-time gardener.
We lived in Joplin Mo. for 10 years where I managed a self-service gas station. We then moved back to the Mid-west. As I was working for a machine shop, I started a woodworking business specializing in antique restoration. I also built furniture and clocks. I stayed very busy until I retired about 6 years ago. Woodworking is still my hobby.
In July of 2001 we moved to a smaller home in Cedarville IL, population of 750. We enjoy the small town atmosphere. I enjoy going to swim and workout 3 times a week.
We enjoy traveling and spent the month of December in Florida, but I do not care for Florida, so we will stay planted here in the Midwest.
Every day I try to learn some, help some and have some fun.
