After graduation from Grant High School, Roger attended the University of Washington where he received a football scholarship.  He then went into commercial construction as a Carpenter Journeyman, Foreman, then Project Superintendent and finally Project Manager.  He spent 42 years at these endeavors.  He retired in 1993 and now has the Cowlitz/Columbia Fishing Guide Service.  He primarily fishes the Cowlitz and Columbia Rivers in the state of Washington for salmon, steelhead and sturgeon.  He no longer hunts deer, but continues to hunt pheasant, duck, chukar and quail.  Roger and his wife Linda spend a lot of time at this, along with their dogs Anne’ and Max.  They enjoy the exercise this pastime affords, as well.

Collectively, Roger and Linda have seven children, thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Linda is employed at a local community college in the Admissions Office.
