Hi Jim,
This is from Don & Dolores Gerstein. Our ISP went belly up so we had to get
a new one. Our new address is deark@ipa.net
Sorry I
couldn't notify you sooner but I was moving from one to another & finally
went back to the one I had for a long time. Hope this finds everyone there in
good health.
Our
weather here has been hot for about six weeks, most of time in the low 100's We
are supposed to get a break starting tomorrow for about a week. Down in the
90's. This has been the hottest summer here in 32 years. I sure hope it doesn't
come again for 32 more years.

Hi Jim, I’ll vote for a cruise. Where are we going?
I know of 5 people without computers - Barbara Baker, Ruth Beckmer, Mary Graves, Carla Bales and Rita Frankinstien. We need their vote.
Should I write?
Note From Donna "Casey" Cushing
Hi Jim News
Letter was great—keep ‘em coming. If we go on a cruise for our 50th
is it possible to have a private room. If we go to Vegas do you think we will
lose half the crowd to gambling? Just some thoughts. I plan

I would like to see us
use a Club near Fox Lake as a site for the 50th class reunion.

on what to do about our 50th class reunion.
Re: A cruise, resort area, or country club near Fox Lake, my choice
would be a nice dinner and visiting at a local facility for our 50th
Class Reunion.
Since Roman's retirement ten years ago, we have spent three of the
winter months in LaQuinta, California -- that is where we spend our
yearly allotment of "fun" money. Changing our arrangement with the
owner of the condo we use would jeopardize our getting it again the
following year under the same conditions that we have previously
enjoyed. Being there is as good as it gets for us. What does Jim
Lumber have to say in this regard?

Note new picture thanks to Phyllis
Regarding the class reunion
event. Cruise would be nice, personally,
I love Las Vegas.I hope it isn't local Fox Lake
area...been there,
Done that.If I have only one vote, it’s CRUISING!!
Keep the updates coming.
Good Job! Love those photos; they really are a
"hoot". That fishing pix .....I wouldn't recognize any of those guys if I saw
them on the street. So nice that they still keep in touch and enjoy such great
outings.
Keep up the good work anyway you can, I appreciate your
efforts. Sue says that she is going to E-Mail you and you will have her E-Mail
address.

About the e-mail vote for a location for the
class reunion.
First Bonnie voted for Las Vegas first, cruise second,
then Biloxi Mississippi 3rd, 4th Fox Lake, now I get this
e-mail.
#3: None of the above, then I suggest Orlando
attractions (Disney,
Universal or Sea World) instead of Biloxi.
Best wishes, Bonnie

Interesting that we were both in the south off of the Gulf at the same
time.I agree that after fifty years of
working we should all be able to do a cruise or something big. And, I know you
are only collecting ideas. Here is an
idea or two:
Why not
do something local for those who might only want to attend something smaller,
and still live in the area. We could also do a Cruise or a weekend at New
Orleans for those who want to attend something more unusual. I took the Amtrak
New Orleans train and booked the deluxe sleeper car. It was great, shower and
john in your own room, couch and easy chair and small table, etc. All your
meals included and under $800.00 round trip. The Deluxe sleeper car is perfect
for two people. Food was also good. This might be interesting. We stayed at the
Radisson, they have a pool on a rooftop, and accommodations were good. Its right in the French Quarter and costs is
reasonable.
My son lives in Foley Alabama, which is
about 15 miles north of Gulf Shores, which is right off the Gulf? They also
have a condo in Perdido Keys Florida, which is an additional 10 miles or so
east of Gulf Shores. Its owned jointly
by the family and is huge, so this became home base. We had two-week ends in New Orleans. By the way, had a family portrait done by a street artist. It’s of my son, 2 grand children, and
me.
I took pictures of it before it was framed and they are quite
clear. Maybe you can take my picture
off of it for classmates.com. Yes, I
still have not had a photo taken. I need to get some copies made. I’ll send you one so you can put it on the computer. Talk to you
later. Mouse

Hi! This is
Sue (Floto) Thelen from the class of '52.
My e-address is cjtsue@juno.com.
I look forward to all the news coming from classmates back home.
Just a little history - I married
Clarence Thelen, from Johnsburg, a year after graduation and we bought a farm
just outside of Elkhorn, WI and farmed and raised four sons and a daughter
there. We lived there until January of
'95, and then we retired and now live in Bella Vista, which is in the far northwest corner of Arkansas.
This is
mainly a golfing community, but I'm not a golfer! Clarence is, and he's out there hitting that stupid little ball
5-6 times a week! I'm happy doing some
of the things I never had time to do back on the farm. We still have our lake house in WI and spend
most of our summers there.
Our
children are all over the country and the lake house is kind of our
"meeting" place where we all get together at least once a year. We have six granddaughters and three
grandsons, and our oldest granddaughter and her husband presented us with a
great-grandson last February.
I keep in
touch with Bonnie Sagel via e-mail and we go to Florida at least once every
winter (we have a son there) so I get to see her then. Other than that I don't
think I've seen anyone from the class in over 20 years. I'm enjoying getting reacquainted with them
through your newsletters and I hope to hear from more of them after you print
my address! Thanks for keeping in
touch!

I don't
know if I want to vote for a site for the Reunion, as I'm not at all sure I'll
be attending. After hearing about how
WONDERFUL Phyllis looks I don't think my ego could stand being in such
illustrious company!
After
all, I'm pretty ordinary, a little overweight, a little gray, a little
wrinkled. (Well, actually I'm a LOT
wrinkled!) I'm just kidding,
unfortunately not about the weight, gray, & wrinkles, but about Phyllis.
She
always did take care of herself and I'm happy that she still looks so
beautiful. For myself I would just as soon have it in Fox Lake area. I don't care at all for Vegas, and I've been
so seasick on the cruises we've taken
that doesn't sound like a lot of fun for me - so I'll
stick with the Fox Lake vote. Back to
the scene of the crime.
I'd like to know if anyone has any
information about Gerry Redman. She
didn't graduate with our class, she moved to Gurnee during our junior year. She had been a very good friend of mine in
grade school and I often wonder where she is.
If anyone knows, I'd like to hear from them.
Thanks, good luck with the plans.

I talked to Bill Fischer and his wife Dorothy 09/03/2000, Bill use to
raise Ostrich for the market, until he found out how aggressive they
are especially when they are in heat, One time one came over the
fence after his son and Bill had to rescue him, after, that thinking
about his grand children who come around the farm often, he
switched
to cattle. You are never too old to learn.
Bill’s E-Mail address is

Mary Graves gave me a call
recently she lives in the Fox Lake area, She doesn’t think she will get to
spend winters in Florida because her husband will never retire. Mary still gets
together with classmates in the Fox Lake area for dinner etc.
