Hi Jim , I sure enjoyed my visit with you last Wed. I know where you are now! I've passed that way many times over the years. It was good to see you & to see the boats too, I worked on boats for 15 yrs. when we lived near Gulfport.

Usually get to IL once a year, we have kids in LA & Maine so we have to spread our vacations around geographically.

The website at the place where I work is www.dutchbarns.com. We brought some IL cool back to NC with us! Hope for some boating weather real soon!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Since many of you don't hear from me often, I felt in the aftermath of the violent storms that devastated parts of central Florida, this would be a good time to communicate, say hi, and let you know that I'm well, and that Sebring was not in the path of, or a part of the devastation.

I've been here in Sebring since August 05, and feel comfortable living in the center of the state, and glad to have made the move from the coast. Birthday number 73 is just a few months away, so I'm pleased to say that I'm still feeling good, and continue to work a full time job as mailman/courier at a local hospital.

The recent picture that should appear just below will provide an indication of just how much I've changed through the years since you last saw me........or you may feel I don't really look all that much different. The picture was taken in December, 06, in the hospital mail room and is part of a batch of pictures showing what things look like in Sebring; it's streets, stores, lake, my apartment, church, and

where I work. If you're interested in seeing them, respond

accordingly, and I'll send them along. They're all in JPEG format, and I'm told download well, even with dial-up internet connections.

My best wishes to you all.

Received a phone call from Lucky Spooner he was asking about a boat. He and Linda  are well Linda was just leaving for china on a little trip. Lucky was holding down the fort while she was gone.

I was in Best Buy replacing an 8 year old computer and met Don Rosing's son, Don has had some serious medical problems lately and my miss his yearly fishing trip with Paul Frost.

Mary "Graves Bauer called the other day looking for an address, she is moving and all her things are in storage at this time her phone number is 847-980-6303

Mary has had two back surgeries plus both knee's out class is starting to wear out little by little.

Received an email from Jackie "Cavett" Walker class of 1953 here is what she had to say about the latest Florida wild fires.

Yes, the fires got me. Everything around me within 75 feet is burned.
Also, I have some burned spots in closer, including the south side of my trailer. It burned the skirting and warped the vinyl siding. They evacuated us on Monday the 7th, and I was in and out after that until the 9th at which time I was taken to the hospital. I just got home and I am okay. Just to much excitement and stress for this old girl.

Anyone have any news fit to print, send it to umbarger@ameritech.net

Don had cancer, but up until two weeks ago he led an active life. One of the things he did that wasn't mentioned in the obit was have breakfast with some men neighbors once a week. Phyllis Bauer's brother-in-law was a member of this group.

Received an email 11/08/07 from Donna Cushing

Hi Jim,  Do you know where I can get a copy of the 1950 Year Book,  My grandfather, William Tonyan retired from the school board that year and the year book was dedicated to him.  He was on the school board since the school opened.  Thanks, Donna Cushing

Note From Jim Umbarger Jr

On a personal note in October my wife Jane and I took a business trip to Alabama   and while there we went to Talladega Superspeedway I had the experience of driving a NASCAR at speeds up to 160mph on the banked 2.66 mile track.

As you come out of the pits and approach the first turn all you see is the concrete wall, you don’t see the turn until you are in it, that was one of the most scary moments of my life I raced boats for 30 years so how scary could it be, well it was, it took me two full laps to feel as if it was ok to go into a turn that fast and live to talk about it.

Jane was very upset that I wanted to do it, but once we were there she started to enjoy it she sat track side for 5 hours even with her bad back.

Nancy A. Williamson
Nancy A. Williamson, treasured wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on December 7, 2007, in Palm Springs, CA, after a brave battle with cancer. Born in 1935 at the Norwegian American Hospital in Chicago, IL, Nancy was the daughter of Hans Olaf and Harriet F. Arnesen. She spent her childhood years with younger brother Thomas in Round Lake, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother. During Nancy's high school years, a vocal instructor strongly encouraged her gift of singing. She became one of the first college freshmen to receive a performance scholarship and appointment to the renowned St. Olaf Choir in Northfield, MN. She also studied at the Music Conservatory in Chicago and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Classically trained, she became an accomplished singer and pianist. In 1956, Nancy married R. Joseph Williamson in Long Lake, IL. They made their home in Peoria, IL, raising a family of three children, Ann of Illinois, and Susan and John of California. As a devoted young mother, Nancy encouraged her children in pursuits of music and academic excellence. She continued her professional singing with the First Federated Church of Peoria and Temple Anshai Emeth Quartet. Nancy was cast in productions with Cornstock Theater, and was a frequent guest performer with the Municipal Band Concert Series. Nancy was a member of the Junior League of Peoria and local music organizations. As her children grew older, she volunteered with the Community Workshop and Training Center, assisting special needs adults and later became the Program Director for the Court Counseling Program of Peoria County, heralding a new approach to counseling first-time criminal offenders. Later, Nancy accepted a position with Illinois Central College as Adult Program Director. Under her management, course offerings and enrollment increased dramatically. Following the birth of her granddaughter, Janet, Nancy devoted her love and attention, nurturing her academic success. When Nancy and husband Joe retired in 1997, they moved to Palm Springs to enjoy the glorious sun and mountains. There Nancy volunteered as patient liaison at Desert Regional Medical Center. She was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of Sunrise Racquet Club and also served as Social Chairman, with the added benefit of cherished friendships so dear to her. A member of the United Methodist Church of Palm Springs, she was blessed there with dear friends and faithful support. So applicable now to her, Nancy's favorite expression of encouragement had been, "Do your best, for angels can do no better." A service of loving remembrance will be held for her on Friday, December 14, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at her church. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or her church.

Letter From Gordy Cole 12/24/2007

Gordy was sad to hear about Nancy's passing he grew up with Nancy in Round Lake Beach and was close to her family all these years. He also was wondering how many of us will be up to a 60th reunion still a long way off and any think can happen, traveling might be a problem for some of use.

Gordy also sent $100.00 towards keeping the web site up, I am beginning to think no one cares I haven't heard hear from any one lately so no news to print.
